Crosman American Classic 1377C Air Pistol
Crosman markets their model 1377C as the "American Classic," and that's pretty much what it is. There is no way of knowing how many youngsters have gotten their earliest gun safety training with this tough, durable, multi-pump iconic handgun.
A veritable cottage industry has sprung up to make all sorts of accessories for this widely available, easily affordable plinker.

IZH-Baikal MP-53M Air Pistol
IZH air guns take their name from the drab, depressing factory city of Izhevsk, the capital city of the mellifluous Udmurt Republic in central Russia on the Izh River.
In the US and Europe, identical guns, including the MP-53M air pistol, are marketed under the various brand names of "IZH," "Baikal," and "IZH-Baikal." All roll off the exact same assembly line. Ours was labeled "Baikal."

Beretta Elite II Air Pistol
We wanted to like the Beretta Elite II right out of the box. We really did. But the relationship soured quickly. This near perfect replica of a real Beretta model 92 is powered by a 12-gram CO2 cartridge inside the grip.
The grip also holds the 19-round, quick-release magazine which, like the gun itself, is made by Umarex USA in Fort Smith, Arkansas, under license from Beretta.
We found a brand new Elite II at Airgun Depot for $46 and a refurbished unit at the same place for $29, so this is not a pricey gun. Needless to say, it comes in .177 caliber only. Many parents might think of purchasing this model as a training gun for their youngsters.

Umarex S&W M&P 40 Air Pistol
Umarex is a German company that is the parent outfit of Walther, a maker of high quality real firearms, such as the famous PPK or the German-made 1894 Walther air rifle (reviewed elsewhere on Hunter Buzz).
At least some of Umarex's air guns, including this one, are made in Taiwan, and the quality of those oriental products is not up to European (or American) standards.
