Armchairgunshow is a great web site to browse. It is owned and operated by Jim Supica, one of America's leading gun collectors and firearm authorities.
This site is actually the on-line catalog of Old Town Station, Ltd located in Lenexa, Kansas. BUT, is much more than a catalog of guns. The site is filled with extremely useful information for the gun collector, largely taken from Jim's writings.
A few comments on Jim's guns: they range from the antique to the modern, from persussion revolvers to shotguns, military rifles and on and on. If you can't make it to your local gun store or show, I recommend a few hours just drifting through the Old Town inventory.
It'll make you hungry for a few more firearms for your collection!

Colt Automatic Pistols

Coltautos.com is a website for the pre-war Colt automatic pistol collector. It has loads of pictures and lots of information about all kinds of Colts, where they were made, how to find out more about them and much more!
For example, when we reviewed the Colt site, this Model 1911, serial # 1024 (pictured to the right) was on their site with lots of historic info available.
It also has a free classified area where you can browse for colt automatics -- you arrange for the FFL transfer -- no middle man and no extra commissions to pay. Or, if you have an interesting pistol, Sam Lisker (who owns the site) may ask for it himself!
One note of caution -- the site is slow! Nevertheless...

Doug Turnbull is famous for his fabulous gun restoration work. Less known, but equally impressive, are the custom guns that Turnbull offers. Check out the DT Colt "Patton" at the right, which is a custom gun highlighted on the Doug Turnbull web site.
Whether you are interested in restoration or looking for custom guns, this is a site worth visiting.

The Gallery of Guns website is focused on new guns from the most popular gun manufacturers. It provides information on guns and a gun locator for a retailer near you. It is owned by Davidson's Supply Company, one of the largest and most progressive firearms wholesalers in America. Davidson's stocks a vast inventory of firearms, possesses years of industry experience and has a reputation as both a "deal maker" and an "innovation leader."
Check out their warranty -- it is outstanding! You have to work with one of their retail dealers who purchased the gun wholesale from Davidson's, but that 's the purpose of having a complete gun locator on the web site.
