Information and Resources
This is a group of special sites that provide information you just might be looking for -- most of it free -- but that is always hard to find. For example: you may want historical background on a Sharpes Carbine or information on M16 versus M14 rifles. Hunter Buzz has always been frustrated by how much time it takes to find the nuggets of info that will help us locate a gun, fix a gun, learn about a gun, or use a gun.
The Hunter Buzz Directory of Information and Resources is dedicated to making the job easier for most gun enthusiasts, to give them more time to collect, to hunt and to shoot. Check out these sites! And, please, let us know about other favorites that you have found!

The picture on the right was found in one of the many articles on antique and collectable guns within the Arms Collectors web site. This site is just loaded with information and resources for the gun enthusiast.
It includes information on identifying guns from serial numbers and markings, linking to other informational web sites, obtaining factory letters, edged weapons, antique gun care, the list goes on...
Oldguns.net sponsors this site. Check out their entry in the Firearm Buzz " Guns For Sale" Directory.

National Hunting/Shooting Sports Heritage Fund
The National Hunting and Shooting Sports Heritage Fund promotes our sport by obtaining sponsors who donate a percentage of their sales to this fund. These funds are then used in various programs that support hunting and shooting sports.
We recommend you check out their sponsor list and become customers of the companies and web sites involved. It's good for our sport!
Then, go to the bottom of their home page and visit some of their affiliated sites such as the National Shooting Sports Foundation web site and others. This group of web sites is just crammed with information for the gun enthusiast!

National Rifle Association
The National Rifle Association Web Site should be visited frequently by every gun enthusiast. Whether you agree with NRA policies or not, it is the single, most comprehensive web site for understanding what's going on in the world of firearms.
Beyond that, the site also describes other newsworthy events, provides stock market info, offers an online store, links to affiliated web sites, etc.
Its worth a visit!

National Wild Turkey Foundation
The National Wild Turkey Foundation boasts a 1/2 million person membership. Not bad for a group of gun enthusiasts who want to bag what was once a candidate for our national bird!
Seriously, 500,000 hunters can't be wrong, and this foundation is one of the leading groups promoting conservation in our country.
Check it out -- lots to see and think about. And, you just might get a good gift from the Turkey Shoppe for one of your Turkey hunting buddies.

Olive-Drab
Olive-Drab is a resource site for everything military. They can point you to military surplus deals, or link you to pictures of just about everything. They can help you understand the secrets of M16 versus M14 rifles. They can tell you about buying and maintaining military vehicles as a hobby.
Go to the search function at the bottom of the Olive Drab home page and check out the different sections you can browse through. Olive Drab is a bit like the Smithsonian Museum -- plan on spending at least three days there before you are done!

Federation of American Scientists
This organization had its roots in the Manhattan project -- it is an old and venerable group. It is most concerned about weapons proliferation and the effect of weapons on world peace and stability.
It turns out that there is also a wealth of information about all kinds of weapons systems that intrigue the firearm collector. I found the site through the ever-popular search term "m14 versus m16 rifles".
But, there is a secret for finding the good stuff. Go to the home page and click on the "search" button on the navigation bar at the top. Then, when it asks for "search area" -- click on "google". Finally, when the google screen appears, make sure to click on "search fas.org".
After that, put in M1, M14, M16, "tank" or whatever you want and see what comes up! You'll be amazed!
Pretty good site with lots of info. Just takes a little practice. Firearm Buzz gives it high marks!

Gun Manuals
This is a German site that has lots of free downloads of military weapons manuals--including those from the great US of A. The site is in German and English and is pretty easy to navigate.
Its probably the first place to go for a manual! If it is not on this site, it may take some slogging to find what you are looking for.
Give it a browse!
